Content and Traditional marketing today

Jan 21st, 2020

Marketing in the 90’s had a totally different approach compared to today. Whether it be the massive billboard along the side of the highway screaming at you at or more important the lucrative infomercials offering you not only the original deal but if you order now we’ll throw in 16 extra sets of sunglasses for the price of one. No one needs that many sunglasses! In this day and age, we have a beautiful thing called the internet. At first glance, it can seem like a soulless black hole, but there’s much more to it. Marketing (content) has changed drastically in the sense that you get a better bang for your buck. With traditional marketing you spend way too much money with very little ROI (Return on investment). The key note here is traditional marketing was all about the company and what they want. Typically they blast you with advertising and expect you to pour your money into them, when really they haven’t added any value. Today, it’s not about what the company wants anymore, its about providing as much value for your customers as you possibly can. The customers are the ones who support the business so that the business can afford to keep the doors open. That’s why at Sunshine we are adopting a totally differant approach to how we add value to our customers. We’re more than just a sign shop, we are a brand. As that brand, our duty is to provide in depth content and quality service. We offer unique approaches to our customers whether it be educational videos, blogs or concepts on how to brand your company better. We want to push the boundaries to bring more to you. It’s time to stop taking and start giving.

Importance of social media presence.

Jan 23rd, 2020

Why is it important to have a presence on your social media? How can you utilize social media platforms to the maximum benefit for your business? I want to share with you just a few things of what I’ve learnt and what I am continuing to learn about how to impliment this continuously growing influence. Here’s the thing: It’s great if you’ve gone ahead and made social media accounts for your company. The trouble is, many of us (as well as myself) will let them sit idle. Businesses that focus on social media engagement grow their reach and get a better return, new customers, shout outs, etc. Here are some things I was taught to put under the microscope. Learning to master these three points will strengthen your online marketing game. Number 1: Quality of content. It’s important to develop a content strategy. I know for a fact I’ve produced some mediocre content that will put you to sleep. But hey, that’s how you learn and grow in your business. But here is the important thing to remember. Mediocre content = mediocre results. Do what you can to make sure you are precise, engaging and I recommend having a proofreader that can give you honest feedback. Number 2: Consistency. Being consistant with your dedication to your work is vital and will play a big role in aiding you into success. Even if it means setting small goals for yourself, to post something each day. Let’s face it, we’ve all been in a situation where we were too busy and forgot to post. I know that I postponed posting online have definitely responded with the classic “Oh I’ll just do it tomorrow” …. well, we all know that, that eventually turns into never. You let it slide once and it makes it easier to push it to the next day, so on so forth. The result that you dream about so often, lies in the work that you’re avoiding. Number 3: Use all platforms that are applicable to your business. I recently learned the significance of what each platform has to offer. Certain content fits certain platforms better than others. For example, a 10-minute video is better utilized on youtube rather than Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Linkedin the list goes on. All of them have their strengths, find out what they are and how your business can benefit from them.
